From Ruthven to Passchendaele
in honour of the Hamilton Military Museum's 40th Anniversary
From Ruthven to Passchendaele Saturday, November 5
at 1pm & 3 pm

Dundurn National Historic Site, in the Castle, the Coach House
Hosted by the Hamilton Military Museum

610 York Boulevard,
Hamilton, ON
Date: Saturday, November 5, 2016
Times: 1 & 3 pm

Told on a multi-functional set, with 13 hand-made table-top rod puppets, From Ruthven to Passchendaele is the compelling story of one family's sacrifice in “the Great War”, a sacrifice made by so many Canadians in the CEF, the Canadian Expeditionary Force. See their journey, from the green meadows of Ontario, to the muck and mire of Passchendaele, to the antiseptic solace of the hospitals in England. This show is ideal for ages 12+, particularly middle-school children who will study WWI in Grade 8. It is also very appealing to history buffs and seniors.
From Ruthven to Passchendaele

The Hamilton Military Museum presents a free day of activities, on Saturday November 5 from 12 pm to 4 pm featuring plenty of demonstrators and activities for the whole family. The Hamilton Volunteer Cavalry Squad will perform on the front lawn of Dundurn Castle. Guests are invited to paint a poppy in our First World War gallery and “plant” it in our Remembrance Day garden. While visiting the Military Museum, don’t forget to dress up like a soldier and use your skills to identify our mystery military objects. Suitable for all ages.
